Yuzuki Katana (Damascus Steel with Genuine Hamon)

The yuzuki is the December moon, seen from the window of a Japanese country house while the yellow yuzu fruits ripen on the garden tree. It is a domestic image of late autumn and early winter, when the yuzu-yu (a bath with yuzu fruits) is prepared for the day of the solstice. The Yuzuki Katana captures this quality of a homely moon.
