Kihaku Katana (Damascus Steel with Genuine Hamon and Ray Skin)

Kihaku is a complex word: it means "spiritual force", "inner intensity", "an intangible presence felt in those who possess it". It is a central concept in ki-do, in kyudo (Zen archery), and in the practice of contemplative martial arts: the master develops it through years of discipline, and students learn to recognize it. The Damascus steel blade with genuine hamon (nagasa of roughly 70 cm, 58-60 HRC hardness) displays a double metallurgical signature: the Damascus layers visible in depth and the differential hardening line on the surface.
