Tsukuyomi Katana (Damascus Steel with Genuine Hamon)

Tsukuyomi is the kami of the moon in the Shinto triad (Amaterasu the sun, Susanoo the storm, Tsukuyomi the moon). He is the most enigmatic of the three: few myths are devoted to him, and after killing the food goddess Ukemochi he is banished forever by Amaterasu — which explains why the sun and the moon never meet. The Tsukuyomi Katana pays tribute to this solitary figure.

The Damascus steel blade with genuine hamon (nagasa of roughly 70 cm, 58-60 HRC hardness) is finished with a polish that reveals both the layered Damascus pattern and the wavy line of differential hardening — two overlapping metallurgical signatures.

The mounting adopts a lunar palette: light grey ito over very pale samegawa, a patinated silver tsuba with a transitioning moon-phase motif, a saya lacquered in night black with opalescent silver undertones, and a cream-white sageo. Burnished silver habaki.
