Fujin Katana (T10 Steel with Hitatsura Hamon)

Fujin is the kami of the wind, the iconic brother of Raiden, depicted as a green demon carrying a great bag of wind on his shoulders. Together, wind and thunder often appear as a diptych in the paintings of the Rinpa masters (Tawaraya Sōtatsu, Ogata Kōrin). The Fujin Katana pays tribute to this airborne figure.

The T10 steel blade (60-62 HRC hardness, nagasa of roughly 70 cm) bears a genuine hitatsura hamon, one of the most spectacular variants: islands of hard tempering extend all the way to the spine of the blade, creating a scattered, patchy effect like gusts of wind across the ground.

The mounting takes up Fujin's palette: leaf-green ito braided over light samegawa, a chiseled bronze tsuba with a wind-bag motif, a saya lacquered in aqua green with white undertones (invisible air made visible), and a cream sageo. Patinated silver habaki.
